UPDATES:

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Patients,

We understand that you may have questions and concerns about the current coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. We want you to know that our practice is preparing to the fullest extent possible while providing you with top-of-the-line care.

Our highest priority is the health and safety of our patients, families, and staff. We are exercising increased precautions to reduce the risk of patients’ exposure to COVID-19, including frequent sanitation of exam rooms, waiting rooms, and reception areas. We’re also communicating necessary steps with patients who think they have related symptoms to ensure the safety of other patients and staff.

In order to keep patients and staff safe, we will be changing our normal operations to reflect the following:

As of now we remain open and will do so unless directed by the State to do otherwise.

For more information, do not hesitate to call the office. Please know we are here to care for all your healthcare needs throughout this crisis. We encourage you to visit coronavirus.gov to help you stay up to date with the latest developments.

COVID-19 Testing Service: Starting on Monday, April 27 we will be offering antibody testing to patients. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call us at (305) 663-1268.

  • If you have traveled in the last two weeks, please kindly reschedule your visit for two weeks following your return.
  • Two options for scheduled appointments:
    • Well visits will take place in the morning only. Sick visits will take place in the afternoon only.
    • We’ve extended our hours in the afternoon to accommodate for sick visits.
  • To minimize crowds in the lobby coming into the office: We ask that you come alone to appointments if possible. If someone needs to accompany you, please ensure they are healthy.
  • Two options for Telemedicine
    • We are offering telemedicine visits if you are not comfortable coming into the office: Please call the office for more information and schedule a virtual visit.
    • Some insurers make televisits available through your insurance plan. Please feel welcome to check your insurance program for availability and coverage.
  • To continuously ensure a healthy and safe environment for our patients and staff during the COVID-19 health crisis, we are not accepting walk-ins until further notice. Patients who are sick, are asked to call our practice for setting up or coordinating care.
  • We are asking patients to put on a protective mask upon arrival if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms.

As usual, we are here for you. We strongly encourage to please stay calm, stay safe and stay home.

This too shall pass. We are in God’s hands and He will not leave us nor forsake us.

We are in this together.

Sincerely,

PAMELA MERINO MD
